Andy Murray’s Tennis Shoes

The 3 time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray will go down in the history as one of the greatest players of all time. He has during his career struggled a lot with injuries, but when Murray is healthy, he is one of the few players that can compete against the big 3 (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic).

Andy Murray is not only one of the greatest tennis players of all time, but also one of the most popular. With all the popularity and success on the court, many asks, what tennis shoes he uses to compete at the highest level. That’s what we will go through in this post.

What tennis shoes does Andy Murray wear? Andy Murray currently wears a custom-made Under Armour shoe that is made to support his stability needs. Murray’s shoes are exclusive to him and not available to buy for the public.

Why Are Andy Murray’s Shoes Not For Sale?

This is a question that thousands of tennis fans including me, ask all the time, but always without a clear answer. Andy Murray endorses his tennis shoes from Under Armour, which he gets paid to wear. Brands pay athletes to wear their brand with 1 intention, to establish their brand and get more sales. But, if his shoes aren’t for sale, how can Under Armour benefit from their deal?

If Under Armour released Murray’s shoes for the public, they would sell like crazy, I know that I most definitely would buy a pair. But, why aren’t they for sale? Don’t Under Armour want to earn money? There is no clear answer from Under Armour, but I think they want to build some hype around their brand. They want to have a taste of exclusivity, which could lead to more sales in the long run.

When they actually release their shoes, more people would be interested in buying a pair. Everything that feels exclusive or unique is very tempting for humans to buy, and there is an endless amount of brands that have done the same thing and had some great success.

Final Thoughts On Andy Murray & Under Armour

Whether not what I mentioned above is true, I think Under Armour has absolutely failed on capitalizing on their endorsement deal with Andy Murray. He used to wear Under Armour clothes as well, but once again, they weren’t for sale. Nothing that Under Armour has done so far with Andy Murray makes any sense at all. If Under Armour wanted to build hype around their brand, they could at least release anything to capitalize on.

Although tennis isn’t in any way Under Armour’s no.1 priority, they are still striving to become one of the leaders in the tennis industry. But so far, they have in my opinion, absolutely failed.
