Denis Shapovalov playing with Yonex VCORE 95

There are a massive amount of tennis racquets in today’s tennis industry and choosing one can be quite confusing. The most important thing to think about when choosing a tennis racquet is that it suits your level and play style.

Players with an aggressive playstyle need to have a well-balanced and spin-friendly racquet that can create power from all areas of the court.

I have taken into consideration, everything from what aggressive players on the ATP Tour use to what I personally would recommend to players that have an aggressive style of play. Here are the 5 best tennis racquets that aggressive players will benefit the most from.

1. Babolat Pure Aero

  • Head Size: 100 sq. in
  • Length: 27 in
  • Strung weight: 11.3 oz / 320g
  • Swingweight: 327
  • String Pattern: 16×19
  • Balance: 4pts HL
  • Stiffness: 69

Level: Intermediate – Advanced

First racquet on the list, the Babolat Pure Aero. Known not only for being endorsed by Rafael Nadal, but also for being one of the most spin-friendly racquets on the market. Rafael Nadal is one of the most aggressive players on the ATP Tour and his racquet of choice allows him to maintain that playstyle.

The Pure Aero is one of the most popular racquets on the market for competitive players. I can see why, despite the amount of spin you can generate, the racquet has the perfect combination of power and control. It will be hard to find a better racquet for aggressive players that plays tennis competitively than the Babolat Pure Aero.

What have to be mentioned, is that this racquet isn’t for everyone. It takes some time to get used to and it requires a certain skill to handle the stick.

I wouldn’t recommend it to beginner players, but for intermediate and especially advanced level players, the Pure Aero is one of the most rewarding racquets on the market. You can read our full review in this post.

Level: Intermediate – Advanced

The Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro is another racquet that is perfectly suited for aggressive playstyles. It’s not only endorsed by the world No.1 Novak Djokovic, but it’s also one of the most popular racquets at the recreational level.

The Speed Pro is a control-oriented racquet that is perfectly balanced for more aggressive playstyles. It has the perfect combination of control, power, and spin.

It’s hard to find any weaknesses with this racquet. The Speed Pro does well from both the back and front of the court. It’s very easy to maneuver on the volley, while it still allows for a lot of power to finish off points.

It’s not the most user-friendly racquet considering the small sweet spot, but for intermediate to advanced level players, the Speed Pro is one of the most rewarding racquets in the Head-line. For novice players, I would suggest going with something else that is more user-friendly.

Ultimately, a must demo tries for any player with an aggressive play-style that considers themselves as an intermediate and above level player. You can read our full review in this post.

The third racquet on the list, the Yonex VCORE 95. One of the most popular Yonex racquets at both the recreational level and the pro scene. The main figure that plays with the VCORE 95 is the Canadian Denis Shapovalov. He is one of the most aggressive players on the ATP Tour and his racquet of choice allows him to pursue that play-style.

What makes the VCORE 95 stand out is the precision and spin-potential. Most Yonex racquets struggle a lot with spin, but this racquet certainly doesn’t have that problem. In addition, it’s one of the most control-oriented racquets in the Yonex line and it will reward the right player with pinpoint accuracy.

The VCORE 95 is not the most user-friendly racquet on the market and it requires a certain skill to handle it. But, when it’s placed in the right hands, It’s one of the most rewarding racquets on the market.

I would recommend it to anyone who categorizes themselves as an intermediate or advanced level player. You can read our full review in this post.

The Babolat Pure Drive is an iconic racquet that has for a long time been one of the most popular racquets in the tennis racquet industry. It’s not only extremely popular at the recreational level, but also at the pro scene. The main player that endorses this racquet is the Italian Fabio Fognini. This racquet got all the ingredients needed to pursue your aggressive playstyle.

What makes this particular model stand out from the competitors, is the amount of power and spin you can generate. Together with the Pure Aero, it’s the most spin-friendly racquet on the market.

In addition, at only 11.1 ounces, it’s extremely easy to maneuver. The Babolat Pure Drive is among the overall best racquets on the market right now. But, Pure Drive is certainly not for everyone.

It’s not the most beginner-friendly racquet and requires a certain skill to handle the stick. It will take some time to get used to, but when you are comfortable with the racquet, it’s one of the most rewarding racquets on the market.

I would recommend it to any intermediate to an advanced level player. A must-try for everyone who plays tennis competitively. You can read our full review in this post.

  • Weight: 314g (Strung)
  • Balance: 3pts HL
  • Flex: 61

Level: Intermediate – Advanced

The Head Graphene 360 Extreme MP is not only an all-solid racquet, it’s also one of the most cosmetically beautiful racquets on the market (if you ask me). It’s not among the more popular racquet at the recreational level, but there are plenty of players at the pro scene that uses the Extreme MP.

The main player that endorses this racquet is the Italian Matteo Berrettini. Matteo has a very aggressive play style and I can see why he picked the Extreme MP.

Despite the beautiful cosmetics, the racquet delivers everything you ever wanted as an aggressive player. The amount of spin you can generate with the Extreme MP is hard to find with any other racquet from the Head-line. Except for the spin potential, the best thing about the racquet is the control-oriented feel.

With most racquets on this list, it’s not the most beginner-friendly racquet on the market. I can see novice players have a hard time playing with this racquet. So, I would only recommend it to intermediate to advanced level players that play tennis competitively. When placed in the right hands, it can be one of the most rewarding racquets available.

Pros

  • Controllable power
  • Spin

Cons
