How Fast Pro Players Serves In Tennis

Tennis is one of the most globally spread sports in the world and there are millions of fans watching the biggest matches. That may be due to tennis being one of the hardest sports to play in the world. To play tennis on a somewhat good level, you need to handle a variety of different shots. That includes backhand, forehand, volley, and of course, the serve. The serve is not only the hardest one but also probably the most important one.
Watch a game of professional tennis and you will be surprised about how fast players serve. But, how fast do the pro players really serve? That’s what I will go through in this post.
In order to find out what the average serving speed is among pro players, I looked at all the top 10 players on the ATP Tour the last match and listed their average serving speed during that match (first serves).

But, there are other players that aren’t ranked inside the top 10 that serve even faster than Alexander Zverev’s 139 mph. One of them is the American John Isner, who is considered to have the best serve in the history of tennis. Isner holds the official record for the fastest serve in the world, after achieving an impressive 157 mph.
